Have you ever been surfing the web while not searching for anything in particular? Usually when this trait happens to most of us we log into one of our favorite social sites like Facebook or Twitter etc… or some us log into realtor.ca and start viewing listings that may or may not interest us, some us are not even in the market to buy or sell a property yet the fascination of knowing what is happening with the market always captures our attention. It's a phenomenon I will never understand, searching and looking at homes when we are more then comfortable and happy with what and where we live.
Well, the good news is that you can now search all MLS listings right through Facebook while you’re logged into your account, no more switching screens between your two favourite websites. While most would welcome the idea while others would be worried that they will never leave their PC again.
Not only can you search MLS but you can easily share listings with your friends and post information right on your wall, if you happen to come across a listing that you think would be “just right” for a friend or family member you can share it through FB messenger as well. Being able to share is just the tip as you can also download directions and then send them to your GPS enabled smartphone for easy access if you choose to do a drive by before wanting to see the home. These are just some of the features that will benefit the consumer, but how does this benefit the Realtor?
The Realtor benefits huge from this technology as the tool works to provide a great experience for the user while generating leads for the real estate agent, if a visitor finds a listing that peaks their curiosity they have the option of contacting the branded agent right through Facebook.
Other ways that the Realtor could take advantage of the tool is to promote through Facebook ads which are very inexpensive compared to Google. The more value that an agent can provide to the consumer the more likely the consumer will choose to do business with the agent that has signed up for this fan gate through a company named MobiHomeSearch. It’s a win-win situation for both the Realtor and the customer says MobiHomeSearch co-founder Barry Street. This is just one of many new and innovative products that MobiHomeSearch will be launching in the last quarter of 2013.
Being that Vincent La Fiura is also a co-founder he has the opportunity to display this tool prior to launch but it is not exclusive to just him having access to it, the fan gate will be available to any Toronto Real Estate Agent or Brokerage who would like to offer the service for a small monthly occurring fee. Pricing has not been made available but will be made public shortly.
As a tech junkie and beta tester I must say the fan gate works really well as I’m able to search specific neighbourhoods, intersections, cities and even municipalities which is really cool! I found the user interface very easy to use and and is also touch friendly when using the fan gate from my Windows Surface pro which is a touch screen device. This is one FanPage that I didn’t mind giving a Like as it’s made home shopping fun.
If you would like to try the fan gate search; “Vincent La Fiura- Homes in Toronto for Sale” from the search bar within Facebook, give the page a like as it unlocks the search Mls tab and away you go. It’s that simple.
