Breaking news, Trump Towers opened its doors January 31st 2012; well it's not really breaking news as most Torontonians were aware of the grand opening. Trump Towers will be one of many hotel residence buildings in Toronto, one of the first was 1 King st West developed by Harry Stinson. This Toronto condo is a massive 65 storey building that soars 900 feet towards the heavens and is located in the heart of Toronto's financial and entertainment districts.
As a Toronto real estate agent I have to agree that the Donald choose a great location for his Canadian masterpiece, the corner of Bay and Adelaide is perfect to attract the most sophisticated guests due the proximity of the cities hot spots. The nearby attractions including the new Opera House, the Harbourfront, Rogers Centre and Air Canada Centre. The hotel is steps away from world-class shopping, museums, galleries, theatres and Toronto’s lively restaurant and nightlife scene, making it a perfect starting point to explore the best of the city.
Let's not forget that Donald would not put his stamp of approval without a word class spa and restaurant. STOCK is the new name to remember around town for all us fine dining fanatics. The restaurant will have an elite wine program, featuring selected bottles that can only be found at STOCK thanks to Master Sommelier John Szabo. Did I mention that the restaurant is located on the 31st floor and will have stunning views! With the name Donald a fixated at the top, the project is receiving overwhelming media attention, and rightfully so; after all we are referring to Donald Trump, not Donald Duck! Which leads me to my next observation, due to the high level of media attention this project has and will continue to have; could this be the reason that investors are willing to pay an average of $1200.00 per sf ft? I will be the first to admit that I never predicted that the Toronto real estate market could bare such a purchase price, I guess I was wrong as most suits have been sold. Premium residences are still available on floors 37 to 47, where the maximum number of suites per floor is six. They range from one-bedroom-and-library suites measuring 1,310 square feet to two-bedroom-and-library suites measuring 2,228 square feet, and at prices ranging from approximately $2.3 million to $4 million. The maximum number of suites per level is reduced to four-per- floor on levels 49 to 54. Options here include two-bedroom or two-bedroom-and-library suites ranging in size from 2,264 square feet to 3,273 square feet, and in price from $4.2 million to $6.4 million.
I have to say that this Toronto condo as made me even more proud to be a Torontonian as this project puts our city on the map, not only as a world class city but also as a business destination.
