Yorkville Toronto | Toronto Condos | Mls Listings

January 24, 2012 - Updated: February 24, 2012

Yorkville has some the most prized Toronto real estate in the country, it's nestled right in the heart of city just north of Bloor St. Yorkville condos at this moment are commanding from anywhere of $500.00 per sq ft and some newer construction units sell as high as $1500.00 per sq ft, you can say with these prices you would think we were referring to lower Manhattan and not Toronto.

Yorkville is recognized as one of Canada's most exclusive shopping districts. The local section of Bloor Street, the main shopping avenue, vies nationally with Vancouver's Robson Street. In 2006, both were the 22nd most expensive streets in the world. It also houses some of the best restaurants Toronto has to offer; place like Peridot Resto.Lounge, Yamato, Sassafraz and Dimmi Bar & Trattoria. It also is home to the first 5 star hotel in Canada.

During the Toronto International Film Festival, Yorkville becomes the place to be for most celebrities, although you will spot top celebrities here throughout the year. In fact most celeb's that choose to buy a home in Toronto usually purchase there Toronto condo in this fabulous Annex neighbourhood. It should be noted that Yorkville has its own fair share of green space as well with Yorkville Park; a unique gardens located on the south side of Cumberland Street stretching west from Bellair Street. It was designed by Oleson Worland Architects in association with Martha Schwartz / Ken Smith / David Meyer Landscape Architects to celebrate the surrounding neighbourhood and reflect the diversity of the Canadian landscape.

At the east end, a paved square of land is dotted with Scots Pines growing out of circular benches. Further west, is a set of metal archways among a row of crabapple trees. Next, there is a marshy wetland. A silver-coloured metal structure houses a waterfall bordering one side of a courtyard filled with benches and chairs, while a 650-tonne hunk of billion-year-old granite, cut out of the Canadian Shield and transported to the park in pieces, is towards the west end. The westerly exit of Bay subway station arises next to the rock.

The park has received the American Society of Landscape Architects Award 1997, the International Downtown’s Association Award of Merit 1997 and the City of Toronto Urban Design Award of Excellence 1997.

It’s fair to say that this Toronto neighbourhood which still is considered to be part of The Annex is a cut above the rest.

If your in the market to purchase a Yorkville Toronto condo, you will have a wide variety to choose from and I still have not found one that has disappointed me. Everything from the service the moment you walk in to any building with first class concierge service to world class restaurants being steps away, Yorkville will not disappoint any savvy buyer.
